On July 24th, 2019, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee held a Korean National Athlete's Day event in Jincheon Training Center for National Athletes (located in Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do Province) a year before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
At this event, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee appointed the announcer, Kim Won-tae as an "honorary ambassador for sports talent sharing" along with former baseball player, Yang Jun-hyuk, an actor, Lee Jung-yong, and the former national athlete, Shin Su-ji.
The former announcer, Kim Wan-tae will contribute to on-line and off-line promotion, sports and training field of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, based on his career as a sports broadcasting program caster for 23 years.
Kim Wan-tae said, "I am very thankful and honored to be appointed as the honorary ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee today. Especially the year 2020 is the 100th anniversary of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and the year when the Tokyo Olympics will be held. So, I would like to do my best to contribute to the development of Korean sports at least."
Kim Wan-tae has a wide range of his various sports broadcast careers such as ’Sports Magazine’, 'Sports Highlights’, and many other MBC TV programs, and the Olympic Games, Asian Games, and World Cup broadcasts. After he resigned last year, he has announced his new beginning with an agent contract with Seven Hundred Communications (CEO Lee Kyusang), the young businessmen’s start-up in last June. He’ll plan to present a new appearance through participating in various formats of content in the future.
